About Resident Services
The primary mission of the Resident Services Program
is to empower residents who need and desire services, toward the
goal of self-reliance whenever possible, while recognizing the interrelatedness
of safe and affordable housing with quality of life.
Our services address Welfare Reform and Moving To Work Initiatives
by establishing personalized support services to promote economic
self-sufficiency and support healthy aging in place.
Programs and services are primarily funded through grants from
the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Special projects
have been funded through grants from the Kansas Health Foundations,
Kansas Self-Help Network, Lawrence Arts Commission, Southwestern
Bell Foundation, Target Community Foundation, and the Kansas Department
of Health and Human Resources. Resident Services has two main
offices located at Edgewood Homes family housing complex and Babcock
Place senior housing complex.
